How Many Treatments will I need and why?

Most areas require 6 – 8 treatments. However, the number of treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on multiple factors – hair thickness, the area being treated, and your hair growth cycle. The laser emits a powerful beam of light, which is absorbed by the hair, which then generates enough heat to destroy the surrounding follicle. The hair must be in the Anagen growth cycle to be permanently destroyed by the laser, since all of your hairs are in one of three hair growth phases at any given time. This is why multiple treatments are required and each should be done within a 6 week period.

What happens after the treatment?

Immediately following the treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. This is normal and may only last hours. Three to 10 days after the treatment you may experience what seems to be re-growth of hairs but most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not actually re-growing. Between treatments, you should not wax, pluck or use depilatory, but it is permissible to shave the area if necessary.
